World Press Photo's 2006 Winners

The World Press Photo's 206 winners of news related images is now up - go check it out. There are some stunning images in there, although I always find myself wondering how staged they might be - or how much 'artistic merit' is being applied in other words. The famous image of firefighters raising a flag at Ground Zero springs to mind. It's a great image that brought hope to a nation at a dark time, and still does, so is the fact that it was staged an issue or not?
